James Ellis McCall, affectionately called Jamie was born, raised, and formally educated in Montgomery, Al. After attending St. Jude Elementary and Junior High School, he enrolled at G.W. Carver High School where he fell in love with "band life" and became Drum Major for the Carver Wolverines. His love for "band life" grew when he enrolled at Alabama State University where he became head drum major for the 1992 band season. In the mid '90s, Jamie relocated to Washington,DC. He started Ellis Communications, a telecommunications company serving new businesses, government and educational institutions.
Just as big as Jamie's entrepreneurial spirit and smile, was Jamie's heart. Jamie's dedicated much of his time serving others: mentoring troubled youth, completing odd jobs for the elderly, not to mention making sure his local and geographically-spread family always had what they needed.
Tragically, on March 20,2020, Jamie was shot and killed by someone he was trying to help.
Determined to live out the goals of James "Jamie" McCall, a few of his family members and friends have collaborated to make this foundation a reality.
J McCall Foundation is a non-profit actively seeking its 501c3 designation which will make all contributions tax deductible.
